Soros fund management to assist Myanmar in budget drawing process
The Soros Fund Management will render technical assistance to Myanmar for its budget drawing process and taxing, Myanmar News Agency reported on January 12. The assistance was discussed when Myanmar State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi met with the Soros Fund Management delegation led by its chairman George Soros in Nay Phi Taw on Wednesday. The two also exchanged views on prevention and reduction of narcotic drug-related harm and rehabilitation as well as mining and production of precious stones in their discussion. Myanmar’s Ministry of Planning and Finance is drawing up the country’s national plan for 2017-18 and working out projects in regions and states in line with the 12-point economic policy.
